SHORT-TERM RENTALS

Effective August 20, 2009, HRES has implemented a pilot short-term rental program for Botanic Gardens, Holden Green, and Peabody Terrace. Under this new program, affiliates may now choose to sign a lease with a December 31, 2009 or January 21, 2010 end date, rather than the usual June 30, 2010 end date. Please contact the Leasing Office 617-495-1459 or leasing@harvard.edu for more information.

Please note that this short term rental offer applies to new leases only. If you have already selected or signed a lease for a Harvard University Housing apartment, the terms of your current lease will continue to apply. This program is subject to change.

HOUSING ELIGIBILITY HAS CHANGED!

Effective for the 2009-10 leasing season, the housing eligibility policy for faculty and employees has changed. HRES no longer requires a Harvard University Department Guarantee Letter for full-time, non-Harvard-paid faculty and employees, such as visiting faculty, visiting scholars, visiting fellows, non-benefits-eligible postdoctoral fellows, Harvard teaching hospital employees, or those in similar affiliation categories. Please be aware that those who sign a lease will pay rent by check. Rent is due on or before the first day of each and every month until the lease expires. HRES strictly enforces a no-tolerance policy regarding late payment of rent.

Attention:

Harvard Law School Students are now eligible for HLS Graduate Student Block housing, administered by Harvard Real Estate Services. Please visit the Harvard Law School Housing Web site for more information.
