Utilities and Services

As of July 1, 2009 the cost of heat, hot water, gas and/or electricity is included in the rent at all Harvard University Housing buildings.

Until then, the inclusion of utilities and services in the rent varies at each Harvard University Housing building.

  • At some buildings, the costs of air conditioning, (provided from May 15 through October 31) or Harvard University's RESnet Internet service are also included.
  • At others, private contracts with Internet service providers, at additional cost, are required.
  • The costs of telephone and cable television service are not included at any buidling and private contracts must be arranged.

If any utilities or services are not included in your rent, you will be responsible for setting up service prior to moving in, paying the bills, and terminating the service when you move out.
