University and Commercial Real Estate (U&C) is a division of Harvard Real Estate Services. We provide quality space to meet the needs of Harvard’s faculties, departments, and the University as a whole in our 99 buildings. We also own and manage three hotels, an off-campus commercial office park, and retail locations that are leased to non-University clients.
Most of our clients interact with both the leasing and property operations arms of U&C. The leasing group not only negotiates leases, they also work with University clients to determine space needs and to locate properties that meet their fiscal and physical requirements. The property operations group manages the physical properties and is responsible for preventive maintenance, heating and cooling, cleaning, and everything else it takes to run a building.
The goals of U&C are to:
- Provide quality space at reasonable cost to meet the space needs of faculties and departments.
- Maintain the value of the portfolio.
- Preserve the characteristics of Harvard Square which support the needs of students, faculty, and the staff of the University.
- Ensure superior customer service via our diverse, highly skilled staff.
